Religious and Formation Life of the Piarist Fathers

In Futru, there is the Our Lady of Africa Formation House (OLAFH) which trains young people for the priestly and religious vocation. The Piarist fathers begin their vocation from Aspirancy which varies depending on the concerned family, Postulancy now in Menteh Nkwen for one year, Novitiate I, Juniorate I which is Philosohpy which last for 3years, Juniorate II which is Theology and last for three to four years and finally ordination.


The Piariste Fathers, Brothers and Calasanzian Sisters and Postulants are dedicated Pastoral Agents in the Parish, according to their possibilities. As their Pastoral Work we can summarize: Liturgical celebrations, sharing of the sacraments, SCCs participation, Catholic Teaching in our schools and in some Government and private schools, Youth Ministry, Coordination of the children’s activities, Catecheses, distribution of the Sacrament of the Eucharist, Visit to the Sick, Help to the Poor, Recollections, Vocation Club, etc.
